SO HERE WE ARE. A VERY BIGLY THANKS TO ALL THE RESPONSIBLE PARTIES. </sarcasm>

While we (as usual, tbh) take issue with who is "allowed" platforms and representation, all in all, this piece on flattery as an oppressive concept from Racked.com is solid. (I see you, Racked.)

Trigger Warning - Discussion of a very fat-antagonistic piece/family fat shaming from the Sun and we're not linking it.

Sigh. We need more than this. We need to hear less from people least affected (on a macro level - not trying to diminish any personal struggles here) and more from people most affected. You are not helping people if you continue to make the focus on yourself.

Consider voting with your dollar, but know that you still have to live. Be informed and make good choices, but know that it's going to be important to also take care of you.

The wonderful Tessa Racked at Consistent Panda Bear Shape has written a manifesto for us all. Fatness does not become a non-issue at this moment. Please read.

The equally wonderful Kiva Bay wrote about how Ann Coulter tried it (and failed miserably).  Also a great reminder about how fat women and femmes (especially of color) have absolutely been at the forefront of some historical and current socially progressive and essential movements.

If you're feeling a bit discouraged and unsure about what to do, the list below is a pretty damn great place to get started. Care for yourselves and those around you and do what's in your lane.

Captain Awkward is a consistently great resource for all sorts of things.

Rebecca Nagle's piece at Bitch Magazine is a great summary on the situation at Standing Rock and what you can do to help. P.S. DO NOT DO THIS. #NoDAPL

This is also another good resource from Bitch. (extra shoutout to Riley and #translawhelp)

See what's going on. Be aware. Believe people. Listen. Fight. & Love.
